Marc Geller 1/22/02 Santa Rosa Stony Circle. 1 Avcon 1 Inductive Avcon works fine as of 1/15. Although the chargers are out in the open in the parking lot, there is some question as to how "public" they are. Nick Carter (nick@npcimaging.com) is working with SR officials to get more public charging in SR. He had some trouble with workers at stony circle at least once. i used the AVCON after hours a couple of weeks ago without incident. Avcon was plugged into a Ranger EV. When I unplugged it from the Ranger, it said it had been charging for 72 hours. Tom Dowling 1/24/02 Since this has been listed for some time on cleancarmaps.com, and is in a publicly accessible parking lot, this should definitely be a public location. We need to get this clarified with the SR officials. Good luck to Nick Carter on this. Nick Carter to Santa Rosa Officials 1/22/02 I'm glad to hear that you are buying some gas cars with better fuel economy. I'm aware that you operate natural gas cars. Ironically, two of them are regularly parked in the spaces equipped with chargers for electric vehicles at the city's Stony Point location. Also, depending on who you ask, these chargers are *not* for public use. My issue is with the publicly available infrastructure and the support for electric vehicles or rather the lack thereof. I commend the city on its own use of alternative fuel vehicles including the Nissan Hyperminis. [...] With best wishes, Nick Carter (Th!nk driver, Santa Rosa resident) -
