94945_1.txt Costco Novato 2/2/02 I just noticed that the charger info for the Novato Costco has not been updated since 1999. I wanted to make sure there was still a charger there since I'll be arriving at that location on Saturday with probably two miles left on the Range-o-meter. Can anybody do me the huge favor of verifying that they've used the charger there recently? In return, I'll take a picture of it when I get there, and see that it's sent to Tom and Dave to post. Thanks again, -= Darell Dickey =- 1/30/02 1137 am ============== I've used it within the last week. It's working fine. -Jerry Hudgins 1/30/02 1151 am =============== Howdy folks - Just returned from my longest round-trip yet. 140 miles with one charge in the middle. I took some pictures, and recorded the position. This is known as the Fair Oaks shopping center. I have a clarification for the location description too. The current description contains this line: "The charging station is next to the front door of the tire center, at the southwest corner of the building" which confused me somewhat. I consider the "front door of the tire center" to be the main drive- through roll- up doors, but the chargers are nowhere near those. They're near the single person-door that is shown in the Novato1.jpg picture. And while the Tire Center itself is at the Southwest corner of the entire Costco building, I took that to mean that the chargers were at the Southwest corner of the Tire Center, which they are not. I think a better description would be: The charging stations are adjacent to the person-door of the Tire Center which is located Southwest (to the right) of the main Costco entrance. Included in this small parking area are the handicapped spaces and a couple of spaces marked "Tire Center Only." The official position from my StreetPilot is N 38º 05.227' W -122º 33.047' [In MapBlast lingo, that's 38.08712 -122.55078. Ed.] Since there are two spaces served by two chargers, it would have made WAY more sense to gang the two chargers between the parking spots. But no - the inductive charger is way off to the left where it can only reach one space. The conductive can reach either one. Darell Dickey 2/2/02
