12/2/08: SPI paddle smashed. Could be vandalism or rollaway.... looks more like a rollaway. Reported by SMUD. SMUD to consider repair. Use nearby charger noted below.
8/27/06: Site is back up. Charger replaced by SMUD. Striping improved. Just one spot marked for EVs now.
7/26/06: Down. Repeated E6 errors with flashing delay.
2/9/05: See comments regarding nearby SPI charger.
9/2/04: Problem has supposedly been repaired. No large-paddle cars around to test. Fine for RAV4 EV. Still some persistent ICEing problems here, though.
5/15/04: Charges OK with RAV4 EV small paddle. Appears to be a problem only for large-paddle cars.
4/19/04: Ed Huestis reports will not charge EV1. Stays on 0.0. Eugen Dunlap reports E5 error, not able to reset. Reported to CFCI for repair.
2002-2-3: Tom Dowling. Removed conductive charging stations and created a separate site, Natomas Marketplace - Michael's Arts & Crafts for the conductive charging stations. See further notes below for directions and a list of stores at this "power center."
There is another SPI charger very nearby --at the other end of the same shopping center, behind the Michael's Arts and Crafts store. There is also a conductive charging station at that location.
See further notes. Turn left after turning into the shopping center, and look for the movie theater - the charger is directly in front of the Regal Cinemas theater entrance,
Go to Google Local for driving directions to/and from any location, and to find points of interest.
How to find the charging station location once you have found the site:
In front of the Regal Cinemas, next to the handicapped spaces, behind the Bank of America ATM.
Nearby charging locations:
Natomas Marketplace - Michael's Arts and Crafts (SPI, AVC)
Use the EVChargerMaps system to find nearby charging sites, and to leave comments about this site.
Things to do:
Great location. Right off I-80. Movie theater a couple of hundred feet away. Many restaurants nearby. Charger is sharable between two parking spaces. The rest of the row is all handicapped parking, and the pavement is marked for electric vehicles only, so ICEing is fairly unlikely. However, when there are popular movies, ICEing can be a problem.
Note: Conductive charging stations are on the far opposite side of the shopping center, behind the Michael's store, totally out of sight from the inductive charger. There is a separate listing for them now -- considering this to be two sites, one inductive, one conductive.
