There have been NO previous releases of software with this version. NOTE IN THE UPGRADE PROCEDURE: upgrading to version 1.2.18 ICS-200 software requires uploading of both the App and Sound data. SOFTWARE COMPONENT VERSIONS: The 1.2.18A release consists of the following software component versions: ICS-200 Software Update Version 1.2.18A App: 01.002.018, Released 6/8/1999 with CRC of 0xf609 OSLM: 200.006.xxx (varies depending on part number) Factory: 200.003.xxx (varies depending on part number) Sound: 200.006.001 Magma: 3.11 (Windows program to upgrade your 200) HARDWARE REQUIRED: The 1.2.18 software requires the following hardware: - An ICS-200 system with motherboard version 200010-A1 or higher. *** Production motherboards (200010-B, -C series) REQUIRE *** *** 1.1.47 or later to operate. *** Additionally, a Field Installation and Configuration System (FICS) is required to update the ICS-200. UPGRAGE NOTES: CHANGES FROM VERSION 1.2.17C to 1.2.18A: Bug Fixes: - Serial Number Spoken Message Not Generic The unit did not speak serial number 10003 correctly in the startup speech message. Spoken as "01" "03". Groupings of two zeros in a row were not spoken. The issue was not apparent as the standard serial number format did not allow these specific groupings. This issue has been resolved. Enhancements: - New sound data The new file, ics006.sbd has significantly improved sound quality over previous versions and includes an increased vocabulary. - Installshield upgraded to 2.12, several bug fixes - Stop menu now contains four configurable items Each of 4 menu items can be set independently. To access this menu, press and hold the stop button with the EV disconnected. After 5 seconds, the following functions will be available. Listen to the voice messages for direction. Get the file "ICS-200 User's Guide Addendum 1.pdf" from download section on http://www.evii.com Stop menu now contains: 1. set the volume, zero volume is possible 2. set the time and date 3. set charging mode, either auto-start or economy 4. set the kWhrs message enabled and mode - Economy mode charging start time set to 12am Off-peak charging always occurs from one day to the next day. The start hour is in the first day, and the end hour is in the second day. The start hour can now be set to 12am or midnight on the first day. This can only be done from the charging station's front panel. Magma 3.11 does not support a midnight start hour configuration. - kWhrs voice message now more natural speech In the disconnect message, kWhrs was spoken in groupings of 2 digits instead of a more natural three digits. For example, 12,535kWhrs was spoken as "oh-one" "twenty five" "thirty five". Now it is spoken more naturally as "twelve thousand five hundred thirty five". - kWhrs voice message can be set to last charge usage The kWhrs voice message has previously only supported the total estimated kWhr usage. This reading was similar to the reading on a house meter. The roll-over value is 340,000kWhrs. Now there are two modes. Mode 1 is the estimated kWhrs for the last charging cycle. Mode 2 is for the total estimated usage. These modes can only be set from the front panel stop menu. - Increased Honda EV+ and Ford Ranger compatibility for Public Auto-Start Part number EV00600 has been replaced by EV00601. The Magma configuration source file is CG00650. This configuration is only applicable to auto-start units. It is recommended to program public AVCON's to this configuration if both EV's are in use. See the part number documentation "ICS200AB part numbers.pdf" included in this release. - Power applied accumulation time only up to 24 hours Now roll over for accumulated charging time is now over 10 days - Cannot Clear Durability Constraints from Data Usage Menu The only way to clear durability constraints and kWhr accumulation was by using the NVRAM parameter programming from Magma. This is inconvenient and a clear function was added to the data usage menu at startup. The data usage menu is accessible by restarting the ICS-200 with both buttons pressed and the EV disconnected. Continue holding the buttons until the unit begins to speak. The startup usage menu requires one press of the charge now button to clear the internal error log. Then the four NVRAM parameters, kWhrs, connection count, charge cycle count, and excessive strain count, can be cleared by pressing the charge now button again. - Load Management Input should disable charging The load management input on the fan block was ignored. Now, if it is shorted to ground, the UI displays the standard LM designator scheme, all lit, with ready flashing. If the stop or start button are pressed, "sorry, load management mode is on, charging mode is off" is spoken. Charging will be disabled. - Off-Peak Charging Support for RAV4 This function is not available to the general public. Please call EVI(R) for more information. CHANGES FROM VERSION 1.2.16 to 1.2.17C: Bug Fixes: - none Enhancements: - Installshield upgraded to 2.04, it is now compatible with Windows 98 - New ics005.sbd file with significantly improved sound quality - Magma.exe now has "file->save as" disabled if werbach.dat file exists in install directory - Increased EV+ compatibility - Decreased delay after an excessive strain - kWhrs are now spoken as part of the Startup Event Log to aid in usage data collection KNOWN BUGS IN THIS RELEASE: None. FACTORY CONFIGURATION: No changes since 1.2.17C Upgrading to 1.2.18 will cause the following factory configuration to be programmed into the unit: - The serial number, manufacturing dates and motherboard version will not be changed during upgrades. - The fan circuitry installed flag will be set to TRUE which lets the software know that the ICS motherboard's fan circuitry section is stuffed. - Both Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters will be set to: trip level : 18 mA reclosure attempts : 5 delay between reclosures: 15 minutes and 0 seconds - Pilot signal voltages will be set to SAE-J1772 October 1996 levels. ON-SITE LOAD MANAGEMENT ("OSLM") CONFIGURATION: * Changes since 1.2.17C are noted with an asterisk (*). Upgrading to 1.2.18 will cause the following OSLM configuration to be programmed into the unit: - Standard Part Number configuration will not charge an EV which requires venting. (Note that these settings can be changed.) - Cold load pickup will be enabled, with a startup delay of two minutes plus a random delay of zero to ten minutes. - The unit will request preventative maintenance after any of the following durability constraints are exceeded: 1. 100000 charge cycles *2. 12000 EV connections 3. 4000 excessive cable strains - All the other parameters vary significantly based on the requirements of the installation and the auto manufacturer. To inspect the other parameter configurations, use EVI's "Magma(TM)" software (included in this distribution) to load the .200 file corresponding to you or your installation and inspect the values by selecting the menu item "Edit" then "On Site Load Management Parameters." (See the section "200 FILE DESCRIPTIONS" for a list of which files correspond to which installations/manufacturers). NON-VOLATILE CONFIGURATION: * Changes since 1.2.17C are noted with an asterisk (*). - Volume will be set to 16% - The unit will not perform demand recovery immediately after the upgrade. - The unit will perform a self-test when it is restarted after the upgrade. *- Charging mode will be set to override auto-start *- kWhrs voice message mode will be set to default OSLM configuration typically this is: enabled, total kWhrs for fleet disabled, total kWhrs for private 200 FILE DESCRIPTIONS: ICS-200 configurations are stored in ASCII text files with a .200 extension. Install the upgrade program on your computer. This will install a number of upgrade scripts, plus a program called "Magma" on your computer. Upgrade scripts have a ".200" extension. 2. Run Magma. Select Settings->Comport. Click the comport to which you have attached the FICS adapter and press OK. Exit Magma. (You only have to perform this step once). 3. Connect your computer to the ICS via a FICS adapter. 4. Begin the upgrade by launching one of the upgrade icons. For example, to upgrade an ICS-200 for a public charging application, double-click on "Update 1.2.18 Public". 5. You will be presented with a dialog box showing which paramsets will be updated. Select only the items which you need to update. - Select ONLY App and Sound to upgrade from 1.2.17 to 1.2.18 - Select all 5 parameters if upgrading from a version before 1.2.17 6. Click "Upload" to upgrade the ICS-200. This will take several minutes, so please be patient. Your computer may behave sluggishly or its display may not update until the upgrade is complete. This is normal--the update is very processor-intensive. 7. After upgrading, it is highly recommended to configure the stop menu settings. The ICS-200 now allows the charging mode and kWhrs message settings to be configured from the stop menu. Press and hold the stop button for 5 seconds. Listen to and follow the verbal menu. UPGRADE ICONS: This upgrade package installs several upgrade choices. All contain the same sound bites and application code and differ only in the parameter settings. See the section titled 200 FILE DESCRIPTIONS to see your upgrade choices. It is possible and relatively straightforward to customize these settings using Magma, a PC program included in this upgrade package. EVI encourages customization to enhance customer satisfaction. A NOTE ABOUT OLD MOTHERBOARDS: Version 1.2.18 supports version A, B and C motherboards. However, if you have old (lower than 1.1.43) software installed on a version B motherboard the upgrade procedure may not be able to accurately determine whether you have a version A or version B motherboard and you may experience some difficulties, such as start-up test failures. If this is the case, upgrade your unit to 1.1.47 or 1.1.48 first, which will allow you to manually specify whether you have a version A or a version B board. This only needs to be done once. After this, upgrade your ICS-200 to 1.2.18. A very small number of users with older pre-production units may have a version A motherboard. Owners of version A motherboards upgrading from 1.1.32 to 1.2.18 will have to manually reset their ICS-200s, either by cycling the power or by using Magma (via Edit->Reset ICS), after they are upgraded. This will only have to be done once. A If the text at the bottom of the motherboard says "200010-A1" then you have a PRE-PRODUCTION ICS-200, with a motherboard type of A. B If the text at the bottom of the motherboard says "200010-B1" then you have a PRODUCTION ICS-200, with a motherboard type of B. C If the text at the bottom of the motherboard says "200010-C1" then you have a PRODUCTION ICS-200, with a motherboard type of C. C If the text at the bottom of the motherboard says "200010-C2" then you have a PRODUCTION ICS-200, with a motherboard type of C. C If the text at the bottom of the motherboard says "200010-C3" then you have a PRODUCTION ICS-200, with a motherboard type of C. EVI recommends owners of the version A motherboard upgrade to version C motherboards. Please contact Dave Packard at EVI at +1 800-945-5097 to arrange an exchange to a version C motherboard for a modest price.
